General

How Daily Rentals Work at IBKBIKE


To use our daily rental service, first check the availability of the item and the dates you need. Once confirmed, make your reservation and select the rental period.


You can pick up your equipment at our store in Donostia–Errekalde during the following hours:

Monday through Friday: 10:30 AM–7:00 PM

Saturdays and Sundays: Closed


Anyone can pick up the equipment, provided they provide the reservation details and any documentation we request to validate the rental.


If you prefer, you can also come directly to the store, and our team will help you with the process.

Once payment for your rental reservation has been processed, you will receive a confirmation email, along with a copy of the general rental terms and conditions, which contain all the relevant information. From that point on, your rental reservation will be available for the dates listed on the invoice.

If the system has allowed you to complete the reservation, it means we have that item in stock for the dates you selected. Your rental will be reserved, and the item will be available for pickup at our Donostia–Errekalde store on the date specified during the process.


However, due to circumstances beyond our control, IBKBIKE reserves the right to cancel your rental reservation. In that case, we will notify you as soon as possible.

During the rental process, you entered a start and end date, which you can find on your invoice, in your confirmation email, or in your personal account for the daily rental. To begin your rental, you must visit the store where you made the reservation on the dates indicated, and a Decathlon staff member will hand you your rental item. Remember that during the pickup process, you’ll need to show your ID and sign the general rental terms and conditions that we sent as an attachment in your reservation email.

During the rental booking process and before confirming payment, you will be asked to accept the general and specific terms and conditions of the service. Once accepted, these terms and conditions will be legally binding.


Additionally, when you pick up the product at our store in Donostia–Errekalde, you must sign the rental/delivery contract, which details the terms and conditions again. Finally, upon return, you will also sign the delivery/receipt document to confirm the return of the equipment.  


Remember that if you make the reservation online, you can request a copy of the document/contract associated with the rental from our in-store team.

Payment and Contract

To pay for a rental, you have two options:


1. If you make the reservation on our website

After selecting the product and dates, you will begin the reservation and payment process. Once completed, the full rental amount will be charged. During this process, you will also need to accept the terms and conditions and the privacy policy for the service.

Additionally, before picking up the product in-store, you will need to sign the rental agreement and provide the documentation requested by our team to finalize the process.


2. If the reservation is made at our physical store

Our team will assist you with the reservation in-store. In this case, you can make the payment directly at the store, either in cash or by card. Before picking up the product, you will need to sign the rental agreement and accept the terms and conditions and privacy policy of the service.

Yes, to ensure secure payments and prevent fraud, we have implemented the 3D Secure authentication system for Visa and Mastercard. Therefore, your payments will be completely secure.

The answer is YES. Once your rental has begun, you can extend it.


To do so, simply visit our store in Donostia–Errekalde, and our team will handle the extension, provided there is availability. You can also request it by phone.

Durante el proceso de reserva de un alquiler y antes de validar el pago, se te pedirá que aceptes las condiciones generales y específicas del servicio. Una vez aceptadas, estas condiciones tendrán validez contractual.


Además, cuando vayas a recoger el producto en nuestra tienda de Donostia–Errekalde, deberás firmar el contrato de alquiler/entrega, donde se vuelven a detallar las condiciones. Finalmente, en el momento de la devolución, también se firmará el documento de entrega/recepción para dejar constancia de la devolución del material.


Recuerda que, si realizas la reserva online, podrás solicitar una copia del documento/contrato asociado al alquiler a nuestro equipo en tienda.

You can download the rental contract, which outlines all the terms and conditions, from your personal account. Remember that you’ll need to log in with your customer account credentials to access your personal account.

The answer is NO; you won’t have to pay any additional deposit to reserve a rental item.


The rental can be paid online or in-store. In both cases, as a security measure, a pre-authorization will be placed on your card: an amount of €300 will be temporarily blocked. This amount is not a charge and will be released once the rental period ends and the item is returned in good condition.


If the customer cancels without the required minimum notice (12 hours), the amount equivalent to one day’s rental will be charged.


If the product is not returned on the agreed date, the amount equivalent to one additional day’s rental will be charged for each day of delay. If the customer fails to respond and does not return the product, IBKBIKE reserves the right to take appropriate action.

Services

Yes, no problem. At IBKBIKE, we also offer bike rentals, and depending on availability, we can arrange daily rentals so you can test out the bikes in real-world conditions.


Plus, if you need it, we can help you organize your trip: recommending routes, planning based on your skill level and available time, and even coordinating with local services (accommodations or logistics), so all you have to do is show up and enjoy yourself.


If you let us know what type of bike you’re looking for (road, MTB, e-bike), your dates, and your plan, we’ll let you know about availability and how to proceed.

There is no direct discount. Our rental pricing structure has been designed with long-term rentals in mind, so the price per additional day is more affordable. As for large orders, we currently do not have specific terms, but we are working to provide the best possible experience.

Cancelación, cambios y finalización del alquiler

Sí, podrás cancelar tu alquiler. Para gestionarlo, tendrás que ponerte en contacto con IBKBIKE (la tienda donde has solicitado el alquiler) para que nuestro equipo pueda cancelar tu reserva.


La cancelación será efectiva cuando recibas la confirmación por parte del equipo de IBKBIKE.

Our daily rental service is not a rent-to-own service. These products are intended to be rented out multiple times, and when they are taken out of service, they are subsequently sold as used units.


If you're interested in buying it when it goes on sale, let us know and we'll notify you when it's available.

All products included in our rental inventory undergo inspection and maintenance procedures to ensure they are in top condition.


The customer agrees to use the rented equipment in a normal manner. Wear and tear resulting from normal use will be covered by IBKBIKE. However, if any parts are broken or damaged due to misuse, negligence, or vandalism, the customer must pay for the repair or replacement of the damaged parts before the equipment is returned.


If the product cannot be repaired, the customer must pay 100% of the product's price, based on the current retail price (including VAT) at IBKBIKE.

Repair, maintenance, or theft

All products included in our rental service undergo inspections and maintenance procedures to ensure they are delivered in top condition.

If the product breaks down or is damaged during the rental period due to reasons beyond your control, you must contact IBKBIKE (the store that arranged your rental) as soon as possible. Our team will guide you through the necessary steps, and we will find a solution as quickly as possible, either by replacing the product with another one in perfect condition (if available) or by refunding the remaining unused rental days.

If the damage is due to misuse, negligence, or vandalism, the customer must pay for the repair or replacement of the damaged parts. If the product cannot be repaired, the customer must pay 100% of the product’s value at the current retail price (including VAT) at that time. The downtime resulting from such misuse, negligence, or vandalism will not be reimbursed.

If a rented product is damaged due to misuse, negligence, or vandalism, the customer must pay 100% of the purchase price of the affected item or component.


To calculate this amount, the current retail price (including VAT) on IBKBIKE will be used as a reference, as well as the cost of any necessary replacement parts or labor resulting from the damage.

If the rented product is stolen, you must first file a police report with the appropriate authorities and send it to us as soon as possible.


BKBIKE does not provide theft insurance. The customer is solely responsible for the rented items throughout the rental period. In the event of theft, you will be required to pay 100% of the purchase price of the affected items. To calculate this amount, we will use the current retail price (including VAT) listed on BKBIKE at the time.
